7 Hygiene Tips to Reduce the Spread of Infection

Following the pandemic’s incredible duration, the importance of good hygiene practices has skyrocketed. I was struck by how quickly public awareness of cleaning and hygiene has increased.

Before COVID-19, I used to see just brand commercial hoardings on the roadside whenever I drove to McDonald’s to get that extra stuffed burger. The majority of the hoardings are now filled with hygiene tips and awareness. The hoardings have been entirely changed, bringing hygiene to the forefront of people’s minds. (However, the McDonald’s burger is still that yummy! 😋)

Almost everyone understands the importance of cleaning, therefore it’s time to move on to the next level. The seven good hygiene practices that I’ve discussed here will help everyone combat bacterial illnesses. Following these tips will give you with an extra layer of protection against infections.

Tip #1: Everything Starts with You

“Everything starts with you…” It sounds like a catchphrase from a motivating speech. However, I’m not giving any motivating speech here; rather, I’m talking about viruses. Infections might begin with you, or your body can serve as a conduit for bacteria to spread to others 😐.  (Don’t panic, A solution is waiting ahead). In a nutshell, an individual’s role is vital, and so is our personal hygiene. Following are some personal hygiene tips to follow.

⇒Keep Your Hands Clean
⇒Stop Sharing Personal Things
⇒Stop Touching Your Face
⇒Wash Hands After Touching Pets

Tip #2: Be Alert When You Are Out

leanliness and hygiene

All of us are active with good hygiene practices at home, but we forget them when we are out of the house. When we meet up with friends, we forget about the rest of the world (which is fine; I do the same when I’m having a good time 😆), but never forget hygiene measures when you are in public places, follow the below-mentioned tips.

➜Be Equipped with Mask & Hand Sanitizer
➜No Handshake with Anyone
➜Keep Distance from People
➜Avoid Eating at Public Places
➜Follow Sneeze & Cough Etiquettes
➜Avoid Using Public Toilets

Tip #3: Take Care of Your Surroundings

The old assertion is “You become what you eat,” while the most recent is “You become what you surround yourself with,” both of which are strongly linked to your health. Consider what would happen if you were surrounded by bacteria and viruses. What would you become? You will get infections and become a patient. To get rid of the germs in your environment, follow these guidelines.

➤Clean & Disinfect Your Surroundings
➤Follow A Disinfecting Routine
➤Use Disinfectant on Different Surfaces

Tip #4: Safely Treat an Infected Person

Nobody wants to come into contact with an infected person, but it is unavoidable when a member of our family or friends gets infected. Cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitization practices can be beneficial in this situation. Follow these guidelines in such cases.

➻Use Safety Equipment Such as Masks & Gloves
➻Disinfect Person’s Living Space
➻Quarantine That Person

Tip #5: Disinfecting Sensitive Areas/Things

Home disinfection is vital, but what about sensitive areas like the kitchen or dining area? Due to the harsh chemical-based sanitizers, you may be hesitant to use disinfectants if there is food present. Following tips can help you disinfect sensitive areas to prevent the spread of infections.

⤐Use Natural Products to Sanitize the Kitchen
⤐For Food Use Sanitizer with Zero Side effects.
⤐Use Organic Sanitizer for Kids’ Toys

Tip #6: Develop Good Habits

cleanliness and hygiene

Are you aware that the essential practices you learnt in school can protect you from serious infections, astounded? Even I was shocked. (Talking about school brings up unforgettable memories for us 😁, STOP! Let’s come back to the good habits). Many of those habits, I’m sure, have been forgotten by the majority of us. Don’t worry, because we have listed all those habits along with some new ones below.

⤜Sneeze & Cough into Elbows
⤜Take Care of Nails & Hair
⤜Wash Hankies After Use
⤜Dispose Of Single Use Masks
⤜Keep A Sanitizer with You Always
⤜Use Cashless Mode for Payments
⤜Stay Home If You Are Sick

Tip #7: Disinfecting Public Properties

Now you are done with personal hygiene, good habits and all, but what about the public properties we use throughout the day? No, you don’t need to carry a fogging machine while going to the supermarket 😅, but you need to disinfect high touchpoints while using public properties such as an ATM, public transportation, etc. Following are some actions you need to take while utilizing public properties or services.

⤅Sanitize Your Seat in a Public Vehicle
⤅Disinfect The Elevator’s Control Panel
⤅Dine-out Carefully
⤅Sanitize Hands After Using An ATM

A few habits or small actions can save us from critical health problems. However, without proper hygiene practices, we get in touch with bacteria, viruses, and germs that can cause serious infections. There are many measures to prevent infections at the community level, but personal hygiene measures are missing somewhere at the individual level. Personal hygiene is essential too because it helps us reduce the spread of infection.

  1. Hey there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m looking to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a difficult time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S Apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!|
