Why Me?
Hi Guys, hope you are all doing good! There’s a very thin line between a few things, or it would be better to say – a thin yet highly crucial line.
Self-respect Vs Ego
Being helpful Vs. Being intrusive
Love for work Vs. Workaholic
Being straightforward Vs. Being rude
Self Love Vs. Self Pity, and many more….
Let’s talk about the last bit today, i.e., Self Love Vs. Self Pity. While it is imperative to love oneself, self-pity is a feeling that takes us down.
Accepting oneself as we are, acknowledging our fears and working on them, taking pride in our choices, living our life on our terms while causing no harm to others, setting and respecting our boundaries, taking a break, space, and time for ourselves, are some character traits of loving oneself.
Feeling bad for oneself, comparing one’s life with others and focusing on what’s missing, cursing one’s fate, and repeatedly asking the question “WHY ME?”, and probably a few others are mannerisms that define self-pity. These attributes bring us down as a person and enforce upon us a negative personality. Whenever an unpleasant or unexpected change is imbued in our lives, let’s try changing our approach from “Why me?” to “Why not me?” It is one of the few situations where a ‘Not’ introduces a positive feeling rather than a negative one!
I won’t say following this approach would solve our problems, but it definitely would clear our mind to focus on “how to solve the problem?”; rather than compromising our energy, time, and inner peace thinking “why this had to happen with me?”
Trust me, guys, all of us are fighting our own battles.
