Choice Paralysis!
Ever boggled by such thoughts?
- Had I been a rich person, I would have been on more trips, and at least dared to think about an international trip!!
- Had I lived alone, I would have lived an awesome life with no nok–jhok (altercations)?!?!
I’ve been.. n number of times! But the truth is I would have been nothing but a let loose wild animal if all this had been true. These limitations or constraints discipline our lives.
I am blessed to be living with my family. At least this brings responsibility to my life. They give me a routine – I can guarantee I wouldn’t have even bathed in days had it not been for my family! Good that I have a limited pocket that pokes me every time I am going out of bounds. It induces in me a sense of valuing anyone’s hard-earned money and setting straight my priorities, though I am pretty sure many of my friends might feel that I’m a chindi (stingy)☺.
These restraints or regulations have an added advantage. Whenever we go off track once in a while, we joyously cherish those moments. After all, we honestly understand the worth of such moments. We definitely wouldn’t have if everything were freely available to us on a plate. There is a unique pleasure in disciplined freedom!

More to the point, having limitless options could be dangerous. It might drive you crazy.

I’ve now started experiencing it in my daily life. As a content writer, I have the entire universe to choose my topics from. The initial feeling is surely a “WOW” one, but eventually, it turns to me staring at a wall for hours! Though sometimes it is good and leads to deep thinking in getting to a relevant subject, most of the time, it is frustrating and seems like a waste of time. However, the days I know what I need to write about, my thoughts, search, and pen all go in the same direction delivering quick (may not be perfect) results. From now, I need to put a constraint on my choices and the time allotted to each.
Be it as it may, the ‘going wild’ idea will overwhelm us every now and then. And it’s not wrong to feed such feelings whenever and in whatever way we can. Going for a change of routine for a few days is one of the best options!
Let’s do that and come back to our spaces rejuvenated! Ciao for now!
